President's Corner:
A Message From Dr. Gabriele Millesi
Dear Friends & Colleagues,

We are moving into the last quarter of 2021 and the end of my presidency. One major highlight of this year was the opportunity to attend the first in-person meeting, and that was the hybrid AAOMS Annual Meeting in Nashville from September 28 through October 1. It was similar to a successful experiment, showing that it is possible to organize a big conference in-person by taking all safety checks and restrictions seriously. At the opening ceremony of the meeting, I had the honor to be recognized with the Honorary Fellowship award as the IAOMS President. This was a testimonial of the very inspiring and friendly partnership between IAOMS and AAOMS. We want to thank our American friends, and we are looking forward to a productive future.

Our next project, which we are most most exited to host in the coming days, is the IAOMS/Asian AOMS NextGen Online Conference. Please take advantage of this opportunity to view presentations by two master surgeons and four NextGen surgeons each day. The five-day online conference covers one topic of our specialty each day. Our invited speakers have worked hard to provide you with a dynamic program and informative presentations. We are proud that we are able to engage speakers from each corner of the world once again! The number of registrants for the conference is already high, and we appreciate your early excitement. This is most rewarding for us, too, because IAOMS continues to make a commitment to provide members with more online educational resources (live and on-demand) and the response has been overwhelming. We hope to see you Tuesday, October 26 through Saturday, October 30, 2021.

IAOMS membership has grown steadily over the last six years, and I am happy to share that the last few years have been the strongest yet thanks to our incredibly loyal base and the hundreds of new members who joined the IAOMS family, including members from 120 countries from every stage in their career, from young surgeon to retired. I certainly hope you will take a moment to renew your membership for the 2022 membership year. If you are not an IAOMS member, please consider joining to access our many member benefits.

As you may know, we have longtime industrial partners at our side, who believe in our specialty and our association, as the global representative in our field. It has been an absolute pleasure to work closely with KLS Martin on the latest IAOMS Scientific Webinar Series Sponsored by KLS Martin in Honor of their 125th Anniversary. If you have not yet had the chance to participate, please note that three webinars are currently available on-demand via www.iaoms.org. Join us November 17th and December 17th for the final webinars in this series. Learn more by visiting www.iaoms.org/scientificwebinars.

I am looking forward to connecting with you all at our upcoming program, and I cannot wait to see the smiles on your faces once again in-person soon!

My warmest regards,

Dr. Gabriele Millesi
