Washington County Community Development Code Assessment Open House
Tuesday, March 17, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

There will be a formal presentation from 7 - 7:30 p.m.
Washington County is reviewing its Community Development Code (CDC)—the rules that guide how land is used and developed. Meet with the County project team face to face to discuss the CDC and share feedback. Input shared will help ensure the CDC reflects community priorities and supports a vibrant, livable future.

Have an idea that brings people together or strengthens your neighborhood? The City of Vancouver’s Community & Neighborhood Grants program may be able to help.
Projects can include cultural events, neighborhood gatherings, educational programs, and other community initiatives that bring people together.

Metro Future 50 Community Survey
Metro is bringing together communities across greater Portland to create a 50-year vision for the region. The Future 50 project is asking a fundamental question: What kind of region do we want for future generations?

Online Engagement Strategies and Tools

This course explores digital engagement principles, strategies and tools. You will learn techniques for engaging participants in productive digital conversations, how to facilitate online discussions, and consider approaches for analyzing participant input. Explore how the digital divide impacts Americans, and develop inclusive responses. Lastly, consider the impact and opportunities of Artificial Intelligence on the field of public participation.

Office of Equity & Community Engagement - Temporary Applicant Pool
City of Eugene
The City of Eugene's Office of Equity & Community Engagement is recruiting for a pool of interested candidates to support a variety of upcoming projects in a temporary capacity
In these temporary roles, you will support the OECE staff on equity and community engagement projects affecting our community. You will collaborate with OECE staff, and sometimes other City staff, to achieve equity and community engagement project goals. This often includes the engagement of underrepresented communities such as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities, and religious minorities, but can also include the general population.
Projects you may work on can come from any City department or division and can range in topic, and all focus on infusing equity and community engagement within allotted budgets. Some past and current projects include Parks & Recreation Systems Update, Community Safety Initiative, Digital Equity, Police Policy Reform, Sustainability Innovation, Intergovernmental Tribal Relations, Hazard Mitigation Plan Update, Climate Friendly & Equitable Communities, Neighborhood Planning, Hate & Bias Prevention and Response, and Parks & Recreation Health Equity Initiative. Most projects will include aspects of community engagement where your skills can be complemented by your lived experience, community connections, and languages spoken.

Candidates will be hired into one of two classifications, with the associated salary range determined by experience:
- Temporary Program Assistant: $15.38 - $27.69 hourly

Community Engagement Coordinator (Bilingual En/Sp)
Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF)
Salary Range: $66,035-$75,680 annually
This position will support the Renewables Program Director, focusing primarily on community engagement, stakeholder and partner collaboration, and promoting program initiatives across diverse communities in Portland and Oregon. We are actively seeking individuals who are passionate about increasing access to renewable energy for low-income and BIPOC communities. The successful candidate will join our Renewables team, collaborating with various stakeholders to contribute to the Sunward Community Solar program, which aims to deliver meaningful benefits through community solar subscriptions for underrepresented communities in Portland and Oregon.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in Communications, Environmental Studies, Public Relations, or related field.
- Bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in community outreach, public engagement, or a similar role, preferably within non-profit or renewable energy sectors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse community groups and people from diverse racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, and gender backgrounds.
- Ability to communicate and translate complex and technical information to diverse audiences in English and Spanish.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Passion for renewable energy and community development.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
