Fast-Track Cities Welcomes New Communities on World AIDS Day 2019
NEW YORK CITY AND GENEVA ATTAIN UNAIDS 90-90-90 TARGETS
|
The Fast-Track Cities initiative marked its fifth anniversary on World AIDS Day 2019 as several new communities signed the
Paris Declaration on Fast-Track Cities
. The network has grown from 26 cities in 2014 to encompass more than 300 municipalities around the world today. IAPAC is proud to serve Fast-Track Cities as the initiative's core technical partner, and honored to work with the countless clinicians, advocates, civic leaders, and health officials who create real change in the lives of so many people who are living with or affected by HIV.

DOZENS OF FAST-TRACK CITIES REPORT NEW DATA
IAPAC applauds New York City and the Canton of Geneva, Switzerland, as the two latest Fast-Track Cities to reach the UNAIDS 90-90-90 programmatic targets. New York City is the first in the United States to attain these targets by reaching 93-90-92,
only two years after joining the Fast-Track Cities initiative
. The Canton of Geneva became the fifth European community to reach this key milestone by attaining 90-96-93. Several municipalities, such as Bangkok, Thailand; Kyiv, Ukraine; and Nairobi County, Kenya, have reported exceptionally significant gains with respect to HIV testing, treatment, and viral suppression.

Produced by Gilead Sciences and IAPAC, the documentary explores three key questions:
What progress has been made in improving access to HIV testing, treatment, and prevention?
What challenges remain to ensure we leave no one behind in urban HIV responses?
How do get to zero new HIV infections, zero AIDS-related deaths, and zero stigma?
