Q4 2022
Oh, What A Year for IAPMO SCB
At the start of the 2022, nobody planned for us to become AS9110 accredited through ANAB. We certainly didn’t think a full rebrand complete with name change, logos and enhanced website would occur. How about helping to sponsor the first ever Cal-Mex Aerospace Expo with the California Inland Empire District Export Council? Then wrapping up the year by hosting an AS9100 Lead Auditor training course at our Ontario, CA headquarters? These are all amazing accomplishments, but this is just the beginning!

New Certifications

The SCB team had a very busy and successful year, and we look to build upon this momentum for 2023. First on the docket is ramping up our certifications to better serve our current customers and align ourselves with new and emerging markets. We fully expect to add ISO 14001, ISO 13485, and ISO 27001 to our full list of accredited offerings. In addition, we will continue to support CMMC initiatives and continually expand our breadth of Supply Chain Services.

Trainings and Webinars

Another area we will be enhancing in 2023 are our trainings and webinar offerings. We held some throughout the year but intend on using this platform to engage our customers and auditors for more intensive sessions. In addition, we hope to add some guest subject matter experts, so our customers have an open forum for Q&A and gather different perspectives from leaders in our industry. We intend to host another AS9104 webinar highlighting the upcoming changes along with some tips and guidance on “How to win government contracts”. These are just a few we have slated so stay tuned to our newsletters and website https://www.iapmoscb.org/news/ for updated news and events.

Enhanced IT Platform

As our organization grows, we NEVER want to compromise our excellent service which we know is a huge driver behind our 99.9% customer retention rate. To streamline our process and allow our customers more independent access, the SCB team has tasked our in-house developers to build us a new IT platform. Our system will provide more automated and user-friendly applications for our entire staff and allow customers to access anything from reports to when their next audit is scheduled. There are many additional enhancements, and we are excited to roll out to our customers in early 2023.

We want to thank you for your continued support and wish everyone Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year! We look forward to seeing you in 2023!

Guide to Sustainable Product Design: A Sustainability Roadmap for Manufacturers
The time for adopting sustainable manufacturing practices is now, according to a recent article on www.ptc.com. Manufacturers are waking up to a new reality: sustainability has vaulted to the forefront of their business initiatives. A recent report (CIMData eBook) demonstrates that consumers not only prefer sustainable products but are willing to pay a significant markup to purchase them. As a result, companies are facing social and competitive pressure to meet the market demand. Organizations who may have previously resisted the perceived cost of sustainability are now scrutinizing the environmental impact of their products and processes. This includes examining their business and finding new ways to make their products and operations more sustainable.
Updated Timeline for CMMC Implementation
For those interested in the government's CMMC 2.0 implementation, governmentcontractslawblog.com has written a summary and timeline that will be of interest to DoD contractors. Contractors should prepare their information systems for a CMMC assessment (if they have not already), and seriously consider performing a comprehensive self-assessment sooner rather than later, the article says.
