Successful Cal-Mex Aerospace Expo
|
The first ever Cal-Mex Aerospace Expo took place on September 22nd, and it was a smashing success! This event was hosted by the California Inland Empire District Export Council (CIEDEC) with support by the U.S. Commercial Service and the Baja Aerospace Cluster (Mexico). The venue was held at the San Bernardino International Airport and the setting allowed for beautiful views of the San Gorgonio Mountains.
During the Expo, there was a B2B networking session where attendees had the opportunity to directly connect with Aerospace companies located in Baja California, Mexico. We observed many people interacting with one another while exchanging information and discussing mutually beneficial business opportunities.
All guest speakers did an outstanding job, covering topics including
“AS9100 and Upcoming Changes”, “Cyber Security Essentials for Aerospace”, “Export Controls/ITAR Regulations and “Doing Business in Mexico/Aerospace Export Opportunities”. Brett Pollock, Director of Sales for SCB covered some of the new AS9104 requirements while other members of the staff hosted interested attendees at the SCB table display.
Shirley Dewi, Senior Vice President for SCB who is also on the CIEDEC board as Vice Chair said, “This was a fantastic inaugural event, and we hope to continue the momentum for years to come. We had a great turnout of attendees in addition to our sponsors and exhibitors. I am already excited to see what next year’s Expo has in store.”

How Well Do You Know Department of Defense Acronyms?
|
From https://securityboulevard.com
CMMC is a world awash in acronyms. To achieve compliance, you’ll first need to understand the language of CMMC. This blog will define some of the most common CMMC terms and provide you a context for their use.
First, what’s CMMC? From there, we’ll go in alphabetical order.
CMMC
CMMC is the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification framework created by the DoD in response to increasing cyberthreats. CMMC is designed to unify standards for the implementation of cybersecurity practices throughout the DIB. One of DoD’s top goals for CMMC is to better protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Unlike previous programs, CMMC ensures rigorous, objective enforcement of these standards. In 2021, CMMC was updated to CMMC 2.0 from version 1.0 in order to streamline the program.

Integrity in Supply Chain Management
|
From https://www.lexology.com
One of the greatest challenges to operating as a responsible business is undoubtedly supply chain management. Whilst supply chain influence and supplier standards have traditionally been recognised as a key part of any meaningful sustainability agenda, it has become an area of increased focus with legislative developments in relation to modern slavery and supply chain due diligence.
Over the years there have been some well reported coverage of human rights abuses affecting some of the biggest brands and companies. Increasingly supplier engagement has been further prioritised as companies address the issue of climate, understanding that a significant amount of green-house gas emissions relate to the purchase of goods and services.
