Helping superintendents build the systems and capacity needed to improve outcomes for all students is at the heart of IASA’s commitment to supporting school districts across Illinois.
Through our continued partnership with the Illinois State Board of Education, the Directors of Academic Empowerment (DAE) program provides districts with access to experienced educational leaders who serve as thought partners in strengthening systems, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and building local capacity for sustainable growth.
As districts continue navigating increasingly complex challenges, IASA is excited to expand the DAE program with the addition of two highly respected leaders: Jennifer Gill and Dr. Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat.
Jennifer and Sharon join current Directors of Academic Empowerment Dr. Mable Alfred, Dr. Denean Adams and Dr. Lori James-Gross, expanding the team’s ability to provide no-cost support to districts throughout Illinois.
Areas of Support Include:
- School and district improvement planning
- Review and alignment of instructional systems
- Support with continuous improvement processes
- Analysis of district data to identify strengths and opportunities for growth
- Development of systems and structures that improve student outcomes
- Support for initiatives designed to build capacity and accelerate academic improvement
Together, these five Directors provide IASA with a statewide network of experienced leaders who understand the unique needs of Illinois districts — from large unit districts to small rural communities — ensuring superintendents have access to the right expertise and support at the right time.
