Keeping students safe requires more than a crisis plan. It takes systems built for prevention, threat assessment, and immediate crisis response. With Illinois districts preparing for new student mental health screening requirements, there has never been a better time to think about how those systems work together.

On April 10 at 10 a.m., IASA is bringing together an exceptional panel for our Spotlights webinar series.

You'll hear from:

Dr. Melissa Nelson, one of the nation's foremost experts in threat assessment and crisis response. For more than 30 years, Dr. Nelson has worked at the intersection of K-12 education, behavioral health, law enforcement, and legal systems. She has served as a teacher, building administrator, and mental health clinician, and consults with the FBI on K-12 cases. School districts across the country regularly call on her to help navigate threats and crises.

Stu Libby, Chief Revenue Officer of InSite Health — a company that partners with school districts to provide on-site mental health services, rapid threat assessments, and behavioral support, putting licensed clinicians directly in schools when and where they're needed most. InSite's technology-enabled approach has been utilized across more than 60 school districts, impacting tens of thousands of students.

Dr. Michelle CarneyRay-Yoder, Superintendent of Central Regional School District in New Jersey, who will share firsthand perspective on leading a district through a crisis situation. A former principal, director of special services, and Atlantic County Superintendent of the Year, Dr. CarneyRay-Yoder also serves as an adjunct professor at Stockton University and has built a reputation for prioritizing student wellness throughout her career.
