As the year draws to a close, I'd like to thank all the members of the Board and Council for their hard word and to the many members who contributed to the numerous submissions and representations that the IASW has made throughout the year on behalf of social workers in Ireland. And of course, to Danielle & Clíona, for making it all happen!
For the New Year, why not encourage a non-member to join? With a vast array of low-cost CPD events already planned for 2016, many outside of Dublin and Fitness to Practice legal expenses insurance for their peace of mind, not to mention the opportunity to represent and influence the direction of their profession on national groups, and all this for less than €15 a month, its an ideal way for every social worker to ensure that they maintain their registration!

On behalf of the Board, Council, Danielle & Clíona and myself, have a very peaceful Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year!

Dónal O'Malley, IASW Chair
