Dear Colleagues, Parents, and Friends!
Early childhood education around the world is at a critical turning point. Where are we heading? Where do we want to go? These questions are not only raised by Steiner/Waldorf education but permeate the whole of society as it faces the most difficult challenges: social disintegration, international political crisis, artificial intelligence, harming of the earth, and so many other facets of misunderstanding between human beings, lack of commitment, empathy, and attention. And what can we do? How can we improve the world that our children will encounter? After 100 years, Rudolf Steiner's proposal remains innovative and full of hope, although not simple: work, work, and work! Work for life, hands-on, and work inwardly, to generate the strength to do so.
In preparation for the International Conference and Celebration of 100 Years of Steiner/Waldorf Early Childhood Education, we want to focus on this question: What conditions for inner development will allow us to approach children in ways that best suit their needs?
Unfortunately, many colleagues will not be able to attend the conference. Still, we hope they can share this moment through their regional meetings, their work in the faculty and with families, and the conference live stream (see more below).
We are very much looking forward to meeting you, whether in person or at a distance!
Warm greetings,
Lourdes Tormes
