IASWECE Newsletter

November 2023

Dear Colleagues, Parents and Friends around the World!

Mothers and fathers often lose their own name when a child is born to them, and they become "the mother of" or "the father of".  When they become parents, their hearts open in a unique gesture of endless sacrifice, and their own lives are somehow left in the background. Is this not something admirable that deserves our acknowledgment?

We need to renew the relationship between parents and educators and learn to value what each one can offer to the other and what each one needs. It is only through good collaboration that we can provide the child with what she or he needs in the first years of life. We hope you will find some inspiration in this newsletter!

As we prepare this issue of the newsletter, a new unfathomable tragedy is taking place and having a terrible impact on children, young people and their families. From the great global community of IASWECE, we want to extend to each of them and to all families who suffer loss and trauma around the world, our deepest, heartfelt compassion.

Love is higher than opinion.

If people love one another,

the most varied opinions can be reconciled.

This is one of the most important tasks for Humankind

today and in the future:

that we learn to live together

and understand one another.
