Brief Biography:
Zachary is a PhD-trained pharmacologist leveraging quantitative models of drug metabolism to optimize drug dosing in pediatric patients. Zachary was the lead pharmacometrician for the MTXPK.org website, which guides model-informed decision making through personalized concentration-time profiles modeled using routine therapeutic drug monitoring. Zachary also facilitated the launch of a methotrexate dosing dashboard integrated with the electronic medical record. Through these tools, Zachary hopes to advance care for pediatric patients through optimized use of methotrexate.
Current Focus or Projects:
Zachary is currently building pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic models, exposure-response models, and physiologically-based pharmacokinetic models of high-dose methotrexate for specific pediatric populations, like infants and patients with Down syndrome. He is also exploring the pharmacogenetics of high-dose methotrexate pharmacokinetics and related adverse events.
Contribution to IATDMCT:
Zachary was recently appointed to the Vice Chair of the Young Scientist Committee. He hopes to grow inter-committee collaborations and representation from the Americas.
In Their Own Words:
“Zachary appreciates the multi-disciplinary expertise and international perspectives from the IATDMCT members. He looks forward to networking at future congresses and encourages all young scientists to reach out to the YSC.”
