IATDMCT 2024

IATDMCT Congress 2024 – Banff, Canada (Sep 15 – 18)

The Congress was an in-person event that welcomed the members to the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, Canada!

IATDMCT 2024 benefitted from the presentations of leading international scientists, young scientists and industry partners from all over the world. Participants represented scientific and practice areas of clinical biochemistry, pharmacy, environmental toxicology, occupational medicine, pharmacology, analytical and clinical chemistry, clinical toxicology, and the forensic sciences. The theme of the congress was "Exploring New Frontiers in TDM and Toxicology".

Congress Co-Chairs Penny Colbourne and David Kinniburgh welcomed participants on behalf of the Organizing Committee.

The Pre-Congress Symposium (Sep 15/2024) was entitled "New Frontiers in Clinical Toxicology". The topics included wastewater testing for drugs, drug checking services and the discovery of novel psychoactive substances with artificial intelligence.

Roundtables presented were:

  • Gut microbiome in individual variability to drug response
  • The controversy on statin health outcomes: a gap between fundamental science and clinical evidence
  • What is the molecularly imprinted? How will molecularly imprinted sensors change the world of TDM?
  • Challenges of High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry for Drug Testing
  • TDM of biologics in oncology is there room for personalized dosing for anti-body drug conjugates
  • Discussion & Guide to Implementing a Successful Beta-Lactam Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Program
  • Unsafeness of uncontrolled, so-called edible cannabinoid products containing HHC: lessons to be learned from recent incidents in Czech schoolchildren and adolescents
  • Use of the hollow fiber infection model to generate PK-PD targets in humans
  • Reflections on the use of the direct alcohol biomarker PEth in clinical and forensic toxicology
  • Personalized medicine substance of use and misuse: the role of clinical laboratories

We are looking forward to seeing members next year in Singapore!
