IB Learner Profile for Knowledgeable-They explore concepts, ideas and issues that have local and global significance. In so doing, they acquire in-depth knowledge and develop understanding across a broad and balanced range of disciplines.

Congratulations to Yasmine Lakhouaja!

Since 1968, the HOBY World Leadership Congress (WLC) has empowered students around the world to broaden their perspective and see themselves as part of something larger—the global community. The WLC is a weeklong immersive leadership program designed to empower rising junior and senior high school students to become more confident, caring leaders, and active global citizens. The 2023 HOBY WLC was held at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois during the week of July 22-29, 2023.

HOBY Florida West had the amazing opportunity to sponsor one ambassador from the 2023 seminar to experience the World Leadership Congress (WLC). IB Bartow’s very own, Yasmine Lakhouaja, was the recipient of the scholarship and attended HOBY’s WLC in Chicago!

Information

IB Bartow has transitioned to using Schoology as our main form of communicating with students and parents. Schoology will replace the Remind app which has been one of our primary ways to communicate with students and parents in past years. This transition should be a smooth one since all students utilize Schoology and most parents have used Schoology to access helpful information and resources last year. However, we do appreciate your patience as we implement this change.

All students are enrolled in an IB Bartow course for each specific grade level. The courses are titled IB Bartow Class of 2024, IB Bartow Class of 2025, etc. Within the course, you will find important information, upcoming events, and resources in folders. Additionally, announcements will be shared through these courses as updates.

Parents of IB Bartow Freshmen-Please join us for a meeting at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 in the BHS cafeteria. This meeting is a mandatory meeting where we will discuss requirements for the IB program as well as strategies for success in the program such as time management and how to foster friendships and support groups within the IB cohort. You will hear from our head of school, DP coordinator, guidance counselor and IB upperclassmen. We look forward to seeing you!
