This time of year, w would like to introduce new teachers and wish our teachers who are leaving Tubman all the best for the future. Teachers face difficult decisions every year that may require them to leave their school. Although we are sad to say goodbye to our teachers, Tubman eagerly welcomes new talented staff members.

Enrollment at Tubman for 2022-2023


Enrollment for the next school year is in process and must be done in person at Tubman. Please visit Tubman Tuesday, August 16 - Thursday, August 18th from 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM to register. Additional enrollment times will be available. 

Please bring all documents below to register:


  • Student's Original Birth Certificate
  • Parent's Valid Driver's License or State ID with the Current Home Address
  • Proof of Residency (Current - ComEd, Gas, Deed, Mortgage Statement, Cable...) - Please bring two forms for proof of residency if your license or ID are not current. 
  • Student's Latest Immunization Records and Physical (If available, must be turned in before the start of school on August 22nd)

All children residing in the City of Chicago who are 5 years old on or before September 1, 2022 (Birthdates 9/2/16 - 8/31/17), are eligible for enrollment into a CPS Kindergarten program.  


Transfer Policy at Tubman


When transferring a student parents must come into the Main Office at Tubman to complete a Request for Transfer form or have the clerk at the receiving CPS school to contact Ms. Gordon to release the student.



Medical Form Submission Plan


Students’ physical and immunization records are required by schools to ensure a healthy and safe environment for all students. In light of the school starting on August 22, 2022, parents/guardians need to turn in their child’s records as soon as possible. All forms are due by October 15, 2022. 

 

The physical and immunization requirements are as follows:

 

Physicals (Required for Pre-K, Kindergarten, 6th Grade and newly enrolled students)

 

Immunizations

Required for Pre-K, Kindergarten and all newly enrolled students   

  • DTap, Polio, MMR, Hepatitis B, Chickenpox, HIB and Pneumococcal

Required for 6th Grade          

  • Tdap and Meningococcal

 

All medical forms can be turned into the student's teacher or the main office. If you feel comfortable, forms can also be emailed to the school nurse at CReilly1@cps.edu

 

If anyone needs assistance obtaining health insurance for their child please call the Healthy CPS Hotline at 773-553-KIDS (5437) for assistance. 

ASPEN Parent Portal


Classroom assignments will be finalized on Tuesday. ASPEN was updating it systems over the weekend, so if you had trouble logging in, that may be why. ASPEN Parent Portal allows you to conveniently access information about your student's grades, homeroom teacher, attendance, and other information. Please click here for COVID-19 Safety Protocols for the 2022-23 School Year. Also, in order to register for the ThermoFisher COVID-19 testing you must select Agassiz instead of Tubman. We are working to get this updated.

We are excited to announce a new partner, Right at School to support our after school program for next school year! Right at School will also support recess supervision at Tubman. Learn more about Right at School and their values by watching this video.

Friends of Tubman (FOT) is an all-volunteer group of parents and community members dedicated to making Harriet Tubman Elementary a great school for all students through fundraising and community outreach events.
