Hello families,


The Local School Council is committed to partnering with all of our stakeholders to ensure that we have a wonderful start of the new school year.


As you know, we are commencing the principal selection process and would like to provide the following important dates:


July 26 - Principal Position Advertisement posted

August 9 - Principal Position Advertisement closes

August 14 - LSC receives candidate slate

August 16 - LSC Organizational Meeting

August 16 - LSC Regular Meeting - Principal Selection Process


Updates will be provided during the entire process. The agendas for the meetings will be posted in the coming days.

NEW: Students and Caregivers Ride Free on First Day of School

REMINDER: School Supplies List


Please use the link below for view school supply lists for all grades. School supplies can be dropped off at school on Wednesday, 8/16 between 11am-2pm or Friday, 8/18 between 8-11am. School Supply Kits ordered via School Kidz in May/June will be delivered directly to classrooms.

REMINDER: Classroom Assignments


Classroom assignments for grades 1-8 should be updated and available via your student or caregiver Aspen account after August 14. Families and caregivers can expect to hear from their student's teacher the week of August 14.


Note that Kindergarten classrooms are determined and sent after the teacher meet and greet and will be shared by teachers.

REMINDER: Breakfast and Lunch at Tubman


CPS serves free breakfast and lunch to every student all year long. View your school menu for more information.


REMINDER: New Student Enrollment for SY23-24


New student enrollment for the upcoming school year must be done in person at Tubman during the times below. Required registration forms can be found in the registration section of our website


The next registration times will be August 14-17 from 7:30am-1:30pm


Please bring all documents below to register:

Proof of age:

  • Original Birth Certificate
  • Baptismal Record
  • Passport

Proof of address (Must bring two current)

  • Driver’s License or State ID
  • Current Utility Bill (ComEd/Peoples Gas/Nicor/Cable)
  • Deed/Mortgage Statement
  • Voter’s Registration Card

Health requirements (Must be submitted by the first day of school)

  • Current Physical (Students entering Pre-K, Kdg, 1st, 6th, and 9th grades must have a physical)
  • Immunization Records
  • Dental Exam

Friends of Tubman (FOT)

Back to School Bash this Saturday!


Welcome back Tubman family! Please join us this Saturday, August 12th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for our annual Back to School Bash! This FREE event will be held outside the school’s main entrance and will feature treats including a Kona Ice truck and Tubman swag.


Right at School

Right at School program registration open for 2023/2024 school year


Tubman partners with Right At School to offer an after-school program for students. The program runs Monday through Friday from 2:45 to 6:00 PM. The program is run at Tubman, and supervised by Right at School staff.
