Community Request: Help With Clearing the Playground 


We've received much more snow than expected this early in the season! To ensure our students can access the playground and basketball court as much as possible for outdoor recess, we are in need of assistance with snow removal.


If any parent has a snow blower and is able to assist in clearing the basketball court and key areas of the playground, we would greatly appreciate your help!

Free Neighborhood Event: Tots & Caregiver Holiday Music Class!


We are excited to invite our neighborhood families to a wonderful, free event hosted right here at Tubman! Our partners at Music House School of the Performing Arts will facilitate a special event:



  • Tots & Caregiver Holiday Music Class! This fun, winter-themed class is designed for little ones (ages 0–5) and their caregivers.
  • When: Friday, December 12th, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
  • RSVP: The event is free, but an RSVP is required to attend. Please share this invitation with any neighbors who have toddlers! Interested families can RSVP here.


Student Council Winter Food Drive


Our Student Council’s Winter Food Drive is still going strong, and there’s still time to donate! We’re collecting non-perishable items to support families in our community this season. If you’re able, please consider sending in a contribution with your child this week. Every item truly makes a difference, and we appreciate your generosity!

Please make sure to remind your students that cell phone use is not permitted during practice hours. While we understand that parents need to communicate with their child, practice time is strictly for practice.

(We will have two trainers working with our players based on skill level plus this is a great opportunity to interact with women's basketball professionals!)

Thursday 12/11 - PRACTICE 3-5pm at Tubman

Saturday 12/13 - CPS GAME vs Franklin at 11am at Al Raby HS (players be ready to go by 10:30am)

Friends of Tubman is an all-volunteer group of parents and caregivers dedicated to making Tubman a great school for all students through fundraising and community events.
