Coordinators' Corner

Dear IB Students Families,

As we near the end of the semester we want to remind all of our students (and their support networks) that we are here for you and want to help everyone get to the finish line! We can do this! It's been the first "normal" school year for what seems like forever, and with that comes some "relearning" of how this school thing works! We've all had to relearn what a "hard deadline" is, and what full weeks of uninterrupted school really feels like!

We want all of our students to be successful, but we also want to uphold the rigor and prestige that comes with an IB education. Yes, there are deadlines that have to be met, and sometimes it is a struggle to meet those with all that we have going on in life. Students, please rely on your resources to help you through the times of more stressful workloads. Those "resources" are your IB Coordinators, your IB Counselors, your teachers, your parents, and your IB peers. We are all in this together, and the more that we communicate when we are struggling the better off we are all able to help one another and be successful.

Please do your best in the next few weeks to get caught up if you are behind, and push on through until the end of the semester. Reach out to your "resources" who are here for you and can help create a plan for you going forward!

Band:

  • Grant Bossi was named 6th Chair Trumpet in the entire state!
  • Chris Beersman was named a two year All Stater, earning Honorable Mention!
  • Grace Park qualified to audition for state band as a Freshman!

Semester Grades & IB Eligibility

As we near the end of the semester, we wanted to remind everyone of our IB Academic policy, as outlined in our IB Program Guide (linked below):

Once students begin a pre-Diploma (9th and 10th grade honors courses), Diploma, or Career-Related Program schedule of courses, they are expected to maintain academic excellence.  Any student earning a D or F as a semester grade is automatically considered probationary until the next marking period.  A student earning a D or an F grade at the semester may be removed from those courses in which they are making insufficient progress.  A student who is removed from an honors course at the semester but who earns an A or a B in the non-honors course the following semester and is recommended by his or her teacher may be re-assigned to an honors course for the next year.
