MYP Spotlight

MYP Personal Project Showcase

Sophomores in the first semester Personal Project Lab participated in the annual MYP Personal Project Showcase on December 10th. It was a fantastic morning in which students were able to show off their hard work on their Personal Projects!

The MYP Personal Project helps build community among CHS students and to develop skills to successfully become lifelong learners. It's a great opportunity for students to explore an area of personal interest, solve problems, share their growth as a learner, and to prepare for future DP or CP projects.

Collaborative Science Project Night

The CSP Night was a huge success! Thank you to all the students, teachers, parents, and community partners that came out to be a part of the big night! DP Junior. Druhv Patel shared his experience:

The Collaborative Science Project has taught me a lot of skills including researching, presenting, and teamwork and communication skills. This whole project really helped me approach solutions from different perspectives, allowing me to be more open-minded. Some more skills that I learned which will be very helpful for my future career in data analysis are data interpretation, model building, and project planning. The importance of these skills helps me learn more about the problems around us, and approach them without backing down. Another thing that I learned that will be helpful is that I learned how to work efficiently every time we meet and how to plan the course of action for the project. I think that working efficiently played a big role in completing the project with such excellence and I feel like planning the course of action helped us stay on task and make sure everything got done. This project served as a big learning opportunity for me, and I learned a lot of helpful skills that prepare me for my future studies and career.

Important Information from CHS Journalism

Yearbooks can be purchased online at jostensyearbooks.com. The price is $50 until the end of February. There are also personalization options and payment plan options available online.

Do you have a senior? Do you want them to have a special shout-out in the yearbook? Senior recognition ads are also available for purchase at jostensyearbooks.com. Senior recognition ads are a great place to leave your senior a heartfelt note and submit your own photos, whether that be baby photos or senior photos. The deadline for purchasing your senior's recognition ad and submitting all photos and notes is February 8.

Do you know somebody who owns a local business and would like to support the school's quarterly newsmagazine, The Central High Times? The CHT staff is looking for local businesses who might be interested in donating toward the printing costs of the magazine through sponsorship or by purchasing advertising space in each issue of the magazine. For more information, please contact the print journalism adviser, Kori O'Dell, at keodell@spsmail.org.
