The 2024 IBA Fall Business Meeting...

...will be held at Iowa State University in Ames during the All-State Festival. The meeting will be on Saturday, November 23 in room 004 of the Scheman Building. The Board of Directors will meet at 2:00 p.m. followed by the Business Meeting, which is open to all members, at 3:00 p.m. District Presidents, Committee Chairs, and Presidential Appointments are asked to submit their reports to IBA Secretary Brandon Weeks by Wednesday, November 20.

Major Landers Scholarship Application

Now is the time to think about students for the Major Landers Scholarship! If you have a senior planning on majoring in music education at an Iowa college or university, encourage them to apply. The application for the district audition is due on December 2 and can be found at the following link:

Conference Clinic Session Application

Now is a great time to consider offering a clinic at the 2025 IBA Conference! Consider contacting a colleague, or developing your own clinic idea to present at the 2025 Conference. When you've developed a topic and important points you wish to present, fill out the application at the link below:

IAAE Fall Symposium

The IAAE Fall Symposium is just around the corner! The Iowa Alliance for Arts Education’s Mentorship Committee is hosting the even on Saturday, November 2nd.

The Fall Symposium is a day of professional development for first and second-year fine arts teachers which will feature general interest sessions and discipline-specific breakout sessions for all arts areas. IAAE will cover mileage, meals and hotel expenses for all participants.

The Symposium will be held at the BioScience & Health Science Building on the campus of Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge.

IMEA Conference

The IMEA Conference is quickly approaching. Please plan to attend this conference on November 21-23, bringing together music educators from all ages and stages around Iowa.

A quick reminder, to be a member, a person must register AND PAY their dues. We have run into several situations where someone registers online and then does not finish up with payment. Members who are not current with their payment will not be on the mailing list to receive their Fall Bandmaster Magazine.

There are no paper membership cards this year. We encourage digital payments; either credit, debit, or ACH. You can print your invoice and submit to your business office or forward the payment email invoice. Please help us in this transition away from paper membership cards and paper checks.
