Worshiping Together Sunday Morning

We are excited about worship services at Immanuel on this coming Sunday at 8, 9:30, and 11am. It's been a long 11 weeks since we have worshiped together in the building. If you feel safe, and are ready to, we would love for you to worship with us. Some things will be different as we seek to provide a safe environment for all, but a lot of things will be the same. You will get a chance to worship an amazing God by singing, praying, and listening to God's Word preached and applied to your life. You will get a chance to worship with others, and fellowship with others outside afterwards if you so choose. If you are not ready to come back yet, that's okay. You can worship with us through Facebook, our YouTube channel or our church app. We will be live streaming our 9:30am service. As we phase into regathering together, we very much appreciate you bearing with us and showing grace to us as we try to follow the CDC and the Illinois Department of Health recommendations.

*We will limit our three services to 167 individuals (33% of seating capacity). After a service has filled up, we encourage everyone else who attends to worship with us in our Youth Room, where we will be live streaming our services. We have roped off every over pew. Ushers will be there to help you in finding a seat of your choice. We encourage worshipers to sit in the middle of the pews first.

*Please enter the building through the main entrance. The door will be propped open and you won't have to touch any handles except for the bathroom doors.

*The CDC and ILDH both recommend for you to wear a mask when entering the facility and during the service. If you choose not to wear a mask, that is your choice to make. Feel free to use whatever judgment you feel is most wise here. We are asking all of our greeters and ushers to wear a mask for the first two weeks of regathering.
*We will have giving boxes available for you to place your offering in. We won't pass any offering plates or have any bulletins at this time. You can still give online if you so choose to.

*We will create a one-way flow for entering the sanctuary and exiting after the service.  When the service is concluded, we will dismiss you by rows.

*We have teams scheduled that will sanitize the sanctuary, restrooms, and other areas used between our worship services. Doors will open for the 9:30 and 11 am service 15 before the service starts.

*Hand sanitizers will be available around the building for hand washing.

*At this time, we  have discontinued our preschool ministry, children's church, or choir at this phase. We would love to have your whole family worship with us. If you child needs to stretch their legs during the service, we will have a classroom immediately behind the sanctuary foyer live-streaming during the service.

*If you feel sick, please stay home. If you have underlying conditions, you may want to consider continuing to worship with us from home as well.

At our next phase, we look to increasing our seating capacity to 50% and restarting our preschool and children's classes. We don't have a date yet for when we will enter into this phase, but we hope that we will be able to move into it sometime in the month of July.

We are excited to be back and open for worship! As the Lord leads, we would love for you to join us as we praise our great King who is worthy of all worship.

Your deacons and church staff love you.

Pack the Pantry
for the Nattier Family

Will you help us Live Love to medical missionaries who are coming home for a year by packing their pantry? Bryce and Natasha Nattier, along with their family, have been serving as medical missionaries in Mango, Togo of West Africa and are returning home for a year long state side assignment. Natasha is the daughter of Randy and Melody Murry and was saved and married at Immanuel. If you are willing to Live Love to this missionary family, simply drop off your items at the office by June 14.
Encouragement from Pastor Sammy

Responding to God's call to love your neighbor is always wise. 1John 3:11 says "For this is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another." God's word is clear. He has called us to love all people at all times in a way that shows the power of God's great gospel. We love because God has loved us with such an overwhelming, extravagant love. As you go about your day, continue to listen and look for opportunities for how God wants to use you to love others and demonstrate His love.

In the past week, I felt like God was wanting me to bless an individual and give some extra money to him. I ignored that call and then couldn't shake what God wanted me to do. I circled back in my vehicle and finally did what I think God wanted me to do. Later this week, I had a conversation with an individual that is struggling with her work situation and life during this time.  After the conversation, I felt like God said to my heart, "You need to find a way to love on her." I couldn't shake that calling from God. On the next day, I took a small Bible and highlighted some passages of comfort and wisdom from Scripture (and the gospel!). I wrote a small note and then delivered it to her. I went to bless someone, but I ended up with the greater blessing. Listening to God's call and doing what He asks in His name will bring countless joy to your heart. I don't always listen to God's call to Live Love, but I wish I did.  As this nation seems to be torn by hate and violence, may we who know the great transforming power of God who demonstrates His grace and His love. When you Live Love, God uses it. When you Live Love, others are blessed. When you Live Love, you are blessed. And prayerfully, when you Live Love, others may get saved!

I love y'all,
Pastor Sammy
Volunteers Needed
Between Services

We are in need of volunteers to spray disinfectant after the 8am or 9:30am services. Areas to be sanitized include entry and exit foyers, sanctuary, balcony and stage area, bathrooms, and youth overflow room if used. If you would be willing to serve in this area, contact the church office or sign-up at Sign-up Central.

Connect Around God's Word

We are excited to hear how God is working through our different D-groups. This week a brand new believer is being discipled by one of our men in the church.

D-groups meet for four or five weeks to dig into the Word (we recommend studying a chapter a week), memorize scripture (chose a verse from the chapter you are studying), pray, share life, and look to replicate into other D-groups in the future.

For those who have met, we would ask you to pray about starting your own group. Our prayer is that we would multiply, and new people would be reached. We have two studies available. You can download the Jonah/Ruth study guide here and the Philippians study guide   here  or pick one up in the church office.
New Live Stream Service Time at 9:30AM

A live stream of the service will be available at 9:30am. You can also tune in to the Touch of Immanuel at 106.3 on Sundays at 8:30am for the previous Sunday's message.

2020 Backyard VBS: LIFESAVER

Unfortunately, we are unable to host our typical VBS programming due to social distancing guidelines. In this strange season, we have to think a little differently about VBS. The fact is that children in our community still need to hear the Gospel of Jesus! This is where we need your help! Our idea is to ask you host a one-day, backyard VBS with your kids' friends or kids from your neighborhood. This could be at anytime this Summer. It could be one hour or all day; it's completely up to you!

Don't worry, we've made it easy for you! We've made a kit with a step-by-step host guide to help you pull it off. The kit includes our suggested theme, games, lesson, and a craft. If you would like to host your own Backyard VBS and help share Jesus with your neighborhood families, click  HERE to reserve your Host Kit! Kits will be ready for pick up next week. If you want to check out the material and theme now, click  HERE to access the digital host guide!
