THE LEADERSHIP WE NEED ON THE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS!

In case you missed the announcement: Mayor Aguirre is running for San Diego County Supervisor!

Our South County communities are facing big challenges – from the long-overlooked sewage crisis to financial hardships hammering working people. It’s clear we need fresh leadership and real change.

As Mayor of Imperial Beach, Paloma fought for bold solutions when our communities were ignored – from securing over $600 million to fix our cross-border sewage crisis to working across the aisle for public safety, housing, and addressing homelessness.

But with a sudden resignation, our communities have been left without a voice at the County. Paloma is running because we deserve a real leader who will:

- Stop the sewage crisis poisoning our air, water, and future.

- Stand up for our fair share of housing, public safety, and more.

- Take on special interests that make life too expensive for all of us.

There’s no time to lose in this snap special election. The first fundraising deadline is going to be here in no time, and every donation matters.

When Benjamin Franklin was asked what type of government the Constitutional Convention adopted, his cautionary response was, “A republic, if you can keep it." The incoming administration is certainly challenging our ability to keep it.

2024 didn’t turn out as we had hoped. Trump’s victory and the Supreme Court’s shocking decisions make it seem as though our democracy is disappearing before our eyes. But, though we may be on the precipice, we still have a lot to keep us from falling off. We still have our Constitution, and the freedoms of speech, assembly, and a free press. And, most importantly, the right to vote.

Trump and his followers want to wear us down so we’ll give up and give in. They will push us to the limits, but we're pushing back. To succeed, we must be focused and steadfast in our resistance.

The most important things we can do now to keep our democratic republic are to pay close attention, encourage good candidates to run for public office, and educate and engage the public in meaningful civil discourse.

Let’s resolve to do that together in 2025, so that we can win in 2026! Onward!
