Notes from IBDEA Headquarters

Welcome to IBDEA Happenings, our first monthly newsletter! We will be sharing our "Happenings" with IBDEA Members and our beverage industry friends.

The Executive Management Team transition is going well. CJ has received numerous boxes of information and conference goodies. The IT gurus have transferred all the digital files from Cornerstone Associates to Madeleine Crouch and Company's server. We are extremely thankful to Marv and Stef for their continuous help in answering all our calls or emails.

CJ Marchain, IBDEA Account Executive, may be new to the beverage dispense world, but she is a seasoned vet in association management. We work side by side (in Texas and Montana) to support the IBDEA Officers and Board of Directors. I can't wait for you to meet her at our 2022 Conference.

Speaking of the Conference, who's ready for Orlando in March? Conference Chair, Dena Miner of Nordic Beer Systems of Idaho, has already met with us to help plan an amazing in-person event. Keep an eye out for early bird registration info.

We are kicking summer off with Member to Member Zoom training that we call Associate Member Informational Series. I'm excited to hear more about their new products and alternative solutions to the challenges we face today.

The Draught Beer Academy and Advanced Draught Academy are accepting applications for classes in August and November. Space is limited, so don't wait to register.

International Beverage Dispensing
Equipment Association

IBDEA is a 50-year-old trade association made up of beverage dispensing experts. Our membership is per company and has two categories, Associate Members and Regular Members. Our Associate Members are beverage equipment manufacturers and other suppliers who sell their products to our Regular Members. Associate Members are typically looking for distribution or service providers. Our Regular Members are companies that go into bars, restaurants, schools, etc., sell and service beverage equipment, provide beverage products, CO2, and other beverage gases.

Our specialties are networking and education. We hold an annual spring conference that includes a product fair and networking events around industry trade shows (such as the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago). Educational opportunities include a comprehensive carbonation school, refrigeration/electricity school, and basic and advanced draught beverage schools. We have a members-only virtual forum and Knowledge Center that contains Safety and Compliance documents on our website. Additionally, we send out a quarterly member report, monthly newsletter, and an annual membership directory.
Associate Member Informational Series
Since we couldn't meet in person this year for a Conference and Product Fair, please join us as our Associate Members share new products, alternative solutions, and so much more.

On Wednesday, June 23, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. CT, we kick off the Associate Member Informational Series via Zoom. Subsequent events will be every other Wednesday throughout the Summer.

Safety and Compliance

This committee is to build and maintain the IBDEA’s Knowledge Center safety and compliance library, providing our members with a valuable repository of industry-relevant safety and compliance information.

Committee meets quarterly on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. Central Time.
Next-Gen of Family Business
Chair Josh Sanders

This committee provides a means for members to communicate about meaningful topics that relate to those in the next generation of a family business.

Committee meets on the last Wednesday of each month at 12:00 p.m. Central Time.
Strategic Planning

This Committee aims to establish the direction of the IBDEA, where it is currently, and where it should be in the next 3-5 years.

Committee meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 2:00 p.m. Central Time.
Draught Beverage Dispense

The purpose of this Committee is to educate members on draught beverage dispensing.

Committee meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. Central Time.

The purpose of this committee is to focus on 1) communicating and educating both current and prospective members on the programs and benefits that IBDEA has to offer, 2) enhancing current offerings, 3) creating new programs that are in line with the needs of members, 4) recruiting new members, and 5) retaining existing members.

Committee meets on the 2nd Tuesday of odd-numbered months at 11:00 a.m. Central Time.
