The Associate Member Informational Series ends on November 10, with a presentation from a new member. Using the Network
The NBDEA can work for you. As the Association approaches its 20th birthday – let me reflect on the tools that it provides for all of its members to use.
FIRST, and foremost, it provides an opportunity to network from East Coast to West Coast. In these hectic days of economic stress, we are busy keeping up with everyday problems. If we remember to reach out for help from our members that may have experienced the same problem, we have the advantage of looking at the problem in a different light. We have common problems in our industry. How others have dealt with the problem may offer ideas for solutions. Reach out and touch someone – we need each other.
SECONDLY, the feeling that we are not alone in the struggle to survive is a comfort that propels us to keep going. As the "big guys" keep pushing for their large share of the market (and I guess that is what big business is all about) we must come up with new ideas to counteract that push. Just by talking to other members of the Association may open up a whole new line for us. I keep reminding myself of a theme of one convention, "Diversification." To survive we must be one step ahead in diversifying.
THIRDLY, we have the Convention to attend that, in my case, has always resulted in getting information that has led to greater profits (the bottom line). We can use our Associate Members and their ideas at the Product Fair and their willingness to help us.
LAST, but not least we are a family. The feeling of togetherness and pride in each other lifts us when we are down and propels us to share when we succeed.
Onto the next 20 years of NBDEA – the road may be rocky – but we are not alone.

The IBDEA is excited to announce that Henry Fishkind, Ph. D., will be a keynote speaker at the 2022 Conference! With over 30 years of experience in economic analysis and forecasting, Dr. Henry Fishkind is widely regarded as one of Florida's premier economists and financial advisors.
Dr. Fishkind's career began in the public sector, where he worked as an economist and associate professor at the University of Florida. In 1980, Dr. Fishkind became the associate director for programs at the University of Florida's Bureau of Economic and Business Research. During his tenure at the university, Dr. Fishkind served from 1979-1981 on the governor's economic advisory board. He began his career as a private-sector consultant when he became president of M.G. Lewis Econometrics in Winter Park, Florida. In 1988, Dr. Fishkind formed Fishkind & Associates, Inc. as a full-service economic and financial consulting firm. In 2019, Dr. Fishkind sold his business's financial advisory, consulting, and real estate advisory portions while keeping the expert witness portion, Fishkind Litigation Services, Inc.

I have served on the board for IBDEA and also on several committees and enjoyed working with many IBDEA members. It's really a pleasure to see the entrepreneurial spirit and companies that adapt and find solutions to problems even during the most difficult times. Over the years Philip Thonhauser and I have tried to help IBDEA grow in the USA and in Europe. Both of us have tried to be a resource for IBDEA and the member companies and offer ideas and solutions that work for local markets and attend the IBDEA conference.

NEW Communication Committee |
Volunteer Opportunity!! The IBDEA is creating a new committee and is seeking two co-chairs and committee members. The Communication Committee will be responsible for communications among the IBDEA’s members and between the IBDEA and the larger beverage dispense community. The Committee’s responsibility will include contributions to the ongoing publication of the monthly and quarterly newsletters in addition to social media posts. Industry content, interviews with current members, original content articles, announcements, and other items of interest to IBDEA members are all topics that you can create! Looking to dust off that laptop? Then this is the Committee for you!
