Sunday, October 11
Twenty-Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus compares the Kingdom of Heaven to a wedding feast where all are invited to share in God’s abundant love. While some ignored the invitation, others accepted it with open hearts. The parable reminds us that God continually invites us into a deeper relationship with Him and calls us to respond with gratitude and faith.
As stewards, we are entrusted with many blessings and are called to make God a priority in our lives. When we generously share our time, talents, and resources, we joyfully accept His invitation and help build His Kingdom on earth.
Stewardship Question: How am I responding to God’s invitation, and how can I more generously share the gifts He has given me this week?

Sara, a third grader who truly enjoys Atrium, gave me a gift. Over the summer, she made a book titled, Book of God. On the cover, she drew an open Bible with the words, "In God We Love." The first page says, "I am the vine you are the branches," and then there are several blank pages with a note: I couldn't finish. I smiled at Sara's note and thought to myself, Of course you haven't finished, Sara! You have many blank pages left in your book, much time in your life to respond to the gifts He has given you!
When we first present The History of the Kingdom of God to first graders, the scripture we read with the children lifts up the moments of Creation (Genesis 1:1), Redemption (Luke 2:11 and Luke 24:5), and Parousia (1 Corinthians 15:28). The material we use to help us think about this History is a ribbon that is almost 50 yards long. One section of that ribbon is white, representing the "blank page" upon which, together with God, we all write. This page will contain our responses to the bountiful life God has given us. Sara's response, her gift to me, is a sweet example of the response of children, a response of giving with joy.
I ask you to consider helping our children in Atrium as part of your response. We need assistants (particularly on Tuesday evenings, Wednesday evenings, and Saturday mornings); sewists to cut and sew fabric for First Communion banners; and materials makers (cutting paper, coloring, organizing, painting small items, etc.) Please email Susanne Newman for more information
