The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls)
Today's Psalm makes clear that we and everything we think we own actually belong to God instead: "The Lord's are the earth and its fullness; the world and those who dwell in it." We are stewards, not owners, of our lives and all we possess!
| | Ministry Spotlight of the Week | | |
Would you like to use your spiritual gifts* of encouragement, hospitality, leadership, or service? Why not consider becoming part of the Stewardship Team?
The Stewardship Team helps members of our community embrace stewardship as a way of life—encouraging everyone to understand how they can be good stewards of all that God has blessed them with, including their time, talent, and treasure. By being part of the team, you’ll learn a lot too!
If you’re interested, please contact Margie.

The weekend of November 8–9 will be our Stewardship Renewal Weekend. It will give each of us the opportunity to reflect on all the ways God has blessed our lives and how we are sharing those blessings through our time, talent, and treasure.
This week, we will hear from parishioner Josie Driver on why she gives. Please take a moment to watch the short video.
| | | Día de Muertos (November 1st & 2nd) | | |
Join us in honoring and remembering our loved ones who have passed away during this joyful and meaningful Mexican tradition.
Día de Muertos is a time to celebrate life, love, and memory—not fear. Families and friends gather to create beautiful altars (ofrendas) adorned with photos, flowers, candles, and favorite foods of those we remember.
Our youth group, RESPETO, has created a community altar to honor deceased loved ones. You are warmly invited to bring a picture to place on the altar in remembrance.
In addition, you are invited to join us as the RESPETO Youth Program presents
“Ezekiel’s Vision of the Dry Bones,” a dramatization in Spanish that invites us to remember, reflect, and be renewed in faith.

JPIC Racial Justice Ministry:
We Are One Body in This One Lord
| | |
Immaculate Conception’s JPIC Racial Justice Ministry invites you to stay for half an hour after the 7:45 am Mass on November 9th for a short discussion on how this Sunday’s Scriptures inform racial harmony in the body of Christ. You are welcome to share your hopes, concerns, and ideas.
We hope to meet at the same time every second Sunday in the Daily Chapel, to build community, listen to one another and discuss how we can more clearly exemplify the body of Christ across all racial and other earthly divides. Please stay for this conversation.
For more information, please visit our JPIC Racial Justice Ministry webpage or call Barbara Curran at (440) 840-5511.

Each year at Thanksgiving, we like to provide Thanksgiving Baskets for those in our community who are in need. This is one time that we focus our help on our parishioners. We would like to provide these families not only with food for their Thanksgiving meal but with much more.
The Youth Group is collecting the canned goods we need. We are asking parishioners to provide turkeys, hams, and food gift cards for these families. Donations can be delivered to the parish office beginning Monday, November 10th through Tuesday, November 18th. All items must be delivered no later than Tuesday, November 18th.
If you would like to donate needed food items, please sign up below.
We are also looking for parishioners to help deliver the Thanksgiving food to those who will be receiving it. Deliveries will take place between Wednesday, November 19th and Monday, November 24th.
If you would like to help deliver food, please sign up below.
Thank you for your generosity and support!

We are looking for about 10 adults to come up with an ornament idea, gather the necessary supplies, and be at the event on the 6th to teach the children how to make them. If you save your receipts for supplies, we can reimburse you.
Please use the sign-up link below to volunteer. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Margie.

Furniture Project 3rd Quarter Review:
Truly Making an Impact
| | |
The Furniture Project of Durham (FPOD) had another very productive 3rd Quarter (July-September 2025) serving our Durham community.
In our 3rd Quarter we were blessed to serve:
-
32 Households (Nearly more than the entire first 6 months of this year, which had 36 deliveries)
- 67 people (36 adults and 31 children)
- 2 households of 5 people
-
Over $40,000 in furniture and household value delivered at “no cost” to the recipients. This total does not even include all the additional volunteer labor and the storage costs.
Recent demand has been and continues to be very high. Our donation inventory is getting very low, and we are out of many items. Without more donations and parishioners joining our ministry to help with deliveries and pickups, we will not be able to help all these families in need in Durham.
We Need Your Continued Support! | Want to Help or Donate?
Learn more, visit our JPIC Furniture Project of Durham (FPOD) webpage (www.FPOD.org).

Growing Through Grief is a program offered by a coalition of area religious and civic organizations that provides support and education to those who mourn. It is a wonderful program that many of our parishioners have benefited from.
Immaculate Conception has been a long-time member of this coalition. Many thanks to Bodi McCann for her years of service as our board representative for Immaculate Conception. Bodi is stepping down, and Maureen Gonzales will be our new board member.
