Stewardship Thought for the Week

Sunday, January 11

The Baptism of the Lord

Reflection: Jesus’ baptism reveals Him as the Beloved Son and shows us our own calling through baptism—to bring God’s gentleness, justice, and goodness into the world. Like the servant in Isaiah, we are invited to serve quietly, heal gently, and share God’s light wherever we go.

Reflection Question: How can I live my baptism this week by doing one simple act of goodness or mercy for someone who needs encouragement?

Ministry Highlight of the Week

As the New Year begins, we often reflect on what we would like the year to look like. Maybe you would like to grow in your faith—spend more time in prayer, read Scripture more frequently, or become more involved in ministry.

Why not take a look at our Spiritual Gifts* inventory to discover your gifts and how you can use them? Or, if you have questions about ministries in the parish, contact Margie Burton to learn more about ways you can get involved.

We are one body in this one Lord

The JPIC Racial Justice Group is inviting all of you to meet with us in the Chapel for half an hour after the 7:45 AM Mass on January 11 for a short discussion on how this Sunday’s Scriptures inform racial harmony in the body of Christ. You are welcome to share your hopes, concerns and ideas. We hope to meet at the same time every second Sunday, to build community, listen to one another and discuss how we can more clearly exemplify the body of Christ across all racial and other earthly divides.

Please stay for this conversation. You can also check the JPIC section of our church website for more information, or call Barbara Curran at 440-840-5511 for more information.

Saints and Stories

Join us on Tuesday, January 13, for Saints and Stories, a gathering to learn about the saints of our Church and hear stories of faith from local women. This month we will be learning about St. Clare of Assisi. We will meet from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the youth ministry room in the school. All women in the parish are welcome to attend. Please contact Jeanne Bernacki for more information.

Meals for the Hungry - 1/17

As a parish, we serve dinner to ~150-200 people on the third Saturday of every month. We ask that food donations be delivered in disposable (ie, aluminum) pans and that each donation be enough to feed 15 people. Donations can be dropped off at the Immaculata kitchen (attached to the school) between 4:15 and 5:00 pm on Saturday. Food will be kept warm and cold as necessary until transport to Urban Ministry on Liberty Street, where meals will be served in person. We ask that those who volunteer to serve at Urban Ministries arrive at Immaculata kitchen by 5 pm; an insufficient number of servers puts a burden on those serving. Thank you for your generosity and kindness.

Immaculate Spaghetti Dinner 2026

Cap off Catholic Schools Week in fellowship with school and parish families by joining the 8th grade class and the Knights of Columbus for the Annual Spaghetti Dinner and basketball games. This annual tradition brings together our entire community while also raising funds to support the 8th grade class trip.

2026 Wedding Anniversary Mass

The Wedding Anniversary Mass, celebrated each year in the diocese, honors those celebrating wedding anniversaries, with special recognition to couples with 25, 50, or 60 years of marriage.

As you may have noticed, we have new neighbors, and they have begun remodeling. Please be mindful if you park in that area. We suggest finding another place to park. Thank you for understanding.

Love Fund

The Love Fund request comes from a parishioner. This single mother of three has been experiencing financial difficulties. She is currently working with members of the Love Fund Team to create a workable budget based on her present income. Any financial assistance would be greatly appreciated to help her catch up on past-due expenses. Thank you for your generosity!
