Annual Advent Alternative Gift Fair

The hope and joy of Advent have arrived, accompanied by Immaculate Conception's 22nd Annual Advent Alternative Gift Fair to be held in the gathering space after all our masses this weekend. This special event provides the opportunity to live out your faith as you celebrate the spirit of the season.

This year’s theme, “that they may all be one…” (John 17:21), focuses on the Gospel principle of solidarity, encouraging us to remove the obstacles that separate us so we can promote our common, shared humanity.

Instead of traditional gifts, Christmas “honor cards” will be available inviting parishioners to make financial donations in support of local and global organizations dedicated to social justice and Catholic social teaching in areas such as promoting human dignity, immigration support, poverty relief, and care for creation. 100% of all contributions go directly to these charities. It is a meaningful way to share the joy of giving!

We look forward to seeing you at this year’s gift fair!

Stewardship Thought for the Week

Sunday, December 7

Second Sunday of Advent

Isaiah’s vision of peace and John the Baptist’s call to prepare the way challenge us to live as stewards of hope. Advent invites us to clear space in our hearts for Christ and to share His peace with others.

Reflection Question: How can I help bring peace and hope to someone this Advent?

Ministry Spotlight of the Week

Would you like to use your spiritual gifts of caregiving, encouragement, generosity, service, and hospitality? Consider joining us for the Giving Tree Project! Maybe you’ve already participated by taking a tag and bringing back a wrapped gift. Why not come and see what happens next?

We will be sorting, organizing, and delivering all the gifts during the week of December 15. If you’d like to help, you can sign up below. For any questions, contact Margie.

Immaculate Conception’s JPIC Racial Justice Ministry invites you to meet with us for half an hour after the 7:45 am Mass on December 14th for a short discussion on how this Sunday’s Scriptures inform racial harmony in the body of Christ. You are welcome to share your hopes, concerns, and ideas.

We hope to meet at the same time every second Sunday in the Daily Chapel, to build community, listen to one another and discuss how we can more clearly exemplify the body of Christ across all racial and other earthly divides. Please stay for this conversation.
