ICA and AV Globale to Launch ICA GemBureau Middle East |
· ICA GemBureau Middle East to provide broad range of resources to ICA members
· ICA and AV Globale sign agreement to set up dedicated Dubai-based facility
The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) announced that it has signed an agreement with AV Globale, a Dubai-based ICA member, to establish the ICA GemBureau Middle East, a Dubai-based dedicated facility designed to meet the needs of ICA members and trade representatives, including those based in the Middle East and overseas.

ICA has worked very closely with The World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO) and other industry organisations to develop strategies to continuously improve the manner in which gemstones are traded. For this purpose, we have developed this Ethical Member Accreditation portal for our membership. | | |

Enhanced grading reports for jade, one of the priciest gemstones, have been launched by GIA.
It says its new Jade Report provides greater depth and clarity and includes the type of jade (A, B or C) as well as the species – nephrite or jadeite.
The commonly-used trade term “Fei Cui” will be listed in the comments section when appropriate with the explanatory note stating that “Fei Cui” refers to jadeite, omphacite, and kosmochlor.

World-Renowned Gem Carver Tom Munsteiner Dies at 54
The gemstone cutter is remembered for his contributions to the lapidary community and his hearty laugh.
Award-winning fourth-generation gem cutter Tom Munsteiner died unexpectedly at his home in Stipshausen, Germany, on Dec. 28, the family announced in a statement circulated Wednesday.
