The End of an Era: Mauler Retires
|
|
The ICAF-ES Alumni Association recently recognized Dr. Paul "Mauler" Severance for his innumerable contributions to the organization upon his retirement from the Eisenhower School. Severance, better known to all as “Mauler,” is a 1991 ICAF distinguished graduate and has been an integral member of the Association board of directors since then. In August 1993, he served as the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF) Professor of Strategy through July 2000.
Since March 2001, Severance has been the professor of military science for ICAF and the Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy (ES). Way back when, in June 1970, Severance graduated from Northeastern University (Boston). His storied career and life includes flight school and pilot ops, softball and football participation, meeting the love of his love, his children, and being a grandpa.

Association Office Updates
|
|
The constant changes within the military world continue to be a challenge. Friends and families come together to share life and then, retirements and orders change everything.
As you know, Dr. Paul "THE MAULER" Severance retired from the Eisenhower School after more than 27 years. We intend to keep him active and busy supporting and directing the Alumni Association's programs. He was the spirit of the school and we will endeavor to see him continue in that capacity.
This time of the year brings about military career changes and PCS orders. The Association is no stranger to our dedicated staff moving on. This year, we are sad to say a fond farewell to our IMart program manager, Cecile Bradley. Cecile's husband, Col. Sean Bradley, a 2016 Eisenhower School graduate, will be taking command of a testing unit at Edward AFB in California. They have finally received orders and a packing date along with a plan to trek to California. Cecile has done a fantastic job of overhauling the IMart processes, moving IMart transactions to an online inventory and payment processing platform. The Association is forever grateful for her expertise that will directly benefit and simplify our record keeping and inventory for years to come. Cecile, along with administration and budget program manager Sarah Staats, have brought a professional level of accountability and productivity to the Association office.
Cecile is a friend to and ardent supporter of all the students - she will be missed by all. Blessings to Cecile and her family and a heartfelt THANK YOU for all you have done for the Association, and for all those with whom you have come in contact during your tour of duty in Washington, D.C!
As luck would have it, Tamara Moller, program manager for marketing and membership, is also in the midst of a PCS back to the Washington, D.C., area from Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Tamara has worked from afar for the past several years and the Association is excited to welcome her back to the office. Tamara's husband, Cdr. Kevin Moller, 2012 ICAF graduate, successfully completed his tour as captain of the USS Jefferson City (SSN 759), a Los Angeles-class submarine. Tamara is familiar with the school, having been in the Association office before her husband’s Navy career pulled her away from us. She will be joining our local team again, along with five new board members from the Class of 2018. More to follow on that...

Thank you for your dedication to the Association, Cecile! Safe travels and best wishes during your next adventure!
