Caricatures are Here!

In case you missed it, our caricatures from ICANN 53 in Buenos Aires have arrived. If you stopped by our booth and took the time to fill out our intake form, your reward has arrived. Visit ICANNWiki and check out your personal page to find your caricature. If you have trouble finding it, you can always contact Jackie or Dustin for assistance.

Below are the caricatures of our two volunteers from ICANN 53. Thank you to Paula Cena for assisting with Spanish speaking attendees and sharing the Argentinian culture with us. Thank you to Daniel Marshall for providing an extra set of hands and always brightening the presence of the booth with that glowing smile and caffeine fueled enthusiasm.

Latest Feature: New gTLD Launch Schedule

Our community managers have been working hard over the past few weeks to create a comprehensive list of TLD launch schedules, including TLDs in the  process  of launching, as well as those that have already  done so.

The result of all the hard work is the most extensive and up-to-date resource for important new gTLD dates that you will find. It comes fully equipped with sortable columns for everything from alphabetic sorting of TLDs and their registries, to chronological sorting of each phase of the launches. You will also find that it denotes the type of special phases each TLD will be employing, such as Early Access Programs (EAPs) or Landrush Phases (LR).

Operation Reboot: Homepage Edition

In addition to our New gTLD Launch Schedule, we overhauled our homepage to provide a more functional experience and better look. Users will still be welcomed by our standard homepage features, such as Article of the Week and our latest projects, but will now have improved accessibility to popular resources and utility.

Within our new landing page, we included our new Launch Schedule in scrollable form, making quick searches convenient. We also moved some frequently used links to the top of the homepage, for quicker access to popular resources, such as information on ICANN, new gTLDs and wiki-editing resources.

We want every visit to ICANNWiki to be a useful and enjoyable experience. We have put a lot of time and effort into achieving this goal and we would like your feedback regarding the new changes.  Please take a few minutes to let us know how we are doing with this brief survey:

New Translate Function

Another new feature that we are thrilled about is the new translation extension. This new feature will allow the community to create separate pages for our translated pages, rather than combining multiple languages into one article.

It will also enable us to build our growing base of translated articles by providing better tools for those translators. We currently have over 35 articles in Chinese and Spanish combined. We are very excited about the opportunity to increase this number, as well as expand into more languages.

We are working on creating a tutorial for this tool, making it even easier for willing translators to utilize our new functionality. If you, or anyone you know, has a desire to contribute to ICANNWiki by translating some of our content, please contact

Even if you only have time to do one section of one article, any additional translated content is a great step toward a multilingual site.

We would like to thank those who have contributed already, specifically our partners Allegravita and Dominios Latinoamerica.
