ICCE Fall Conference
Partners in Progress
Greetings from North West IA!
We are excited to be hosting the Fall ICCE Conference in Orange City. We have some great events and speakers planned for you during the conference. We will start off Wednesday afternoon with a chance for some golf at Landsmeer Golf Club or a tour of some our industries in Orange City. We are the home to Diamond Vogel Paints, Quatro Composites, and the Corporate Headquarters for Pizza Ranch. We will have a chance to see some of the unique things being made here in Orange City and see the Pizza Ranch's state of the art test kitchen!   Call 712-707-4510 for bus tour reservations.
Wednesday afternoon we will also be hosting an ICCE New Member Orientation which is to welcome to all new ICCE executives and staff. You will learn what ICCE is all about, how we benefit your chamber, receive information on scholarships that ICCE provides and more about all the events we host.
Wednesday evening is when the fun begins! At 5 pm there will be a welcome reception at the Prairie Winds Event Center complete with a live band, drinks & light appetizers, and a great evening on the patio. The Usual Suspects, a local band, will perform while we reconnect with old friends and meet those new to ICCE. Dinner will be at your choice of 4 unique dining experiences within walking distance of the hotels.
Thursday kicks off with some great conference content including more about the IA Chamber Alliance, Small Business Development Center, a presentation on the new Fair Labor Standards Act & the New Final Rule from Melissa Wright, U.S. Department of Labor - Community Outreach & Resource Planning Specialist (we know you all have questions on how this will affect you and your small businesses), Google will be here to talk about how small businesses can have a greater presence online, and we are devoting the remainder of the afternoon to round table discussions in a NEW format! Click Here for the full agenda
Thursday evening we will have our dinner and reception with a celebration of ICCE's 100 Year Anniversary. David Vollmar, a past ICCE Chair, will emcee this event and we have invited many past ICCE Presidents to attend. This is shaping up to be a great celebration of how our chambers have partnered over the last 100 years to make Iowa a great place to live and own a business!
Friday begins with bringing all our round table discussions together for the group. We will then present our dynamic and energetic keynote speaker, David Aaker, and you better be ready to be energized about your jobs and life with David at the helm!
As always, the hospitality room opens each night after our activities, we hope to see you there as well.
We want you to "Breng ons een bezoek!" (Pay us a visit!)

Fall Conference Dinner

Register for the ICCE Fall conference and join us for the big 100 year celebration. Meet many of the past ICCE chairs, learn about the history of ICCE and how we have become the strong chamber organization of today.

If you know a past ICCE chair, please encourage them to attend. We would like to honor all the leaders who paved the way for our organization.
Share any past history or pictures of ICCE events with Shar, they could become part of the presentation!

A huge thank you to Vicki Mallory with the Algona Chamber for chairing the "100 Year Anniversary Committee" along with other committee members, Tom Kuhlman, Kay Breuer, Tim Coffey and Bill Phelan. ICCE really appreciates the help you have given.
Scenic Ireland
ICCE Heads to Ireland!
The first of many ICCE international education trips is a big success. Twenty-eight ICCE members will be traveling to Ireland, October 19th, for the chance to tour scenic Ireland, and learn about their culture.

More importantly the trip will be interacting with the Shannon Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to learn about their organization.

This trip is approaching fast, and if you are interested in being part of this opportunity call Shar as soon as possible. (515-240-8785)

University of Northern Iowa UNI INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Many of your Chamber members may be looking for an intern to work with different professionals in your community. The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Communication Studies may have a student that fits the needs!

UNI is looking for students and professionals for high quality internship opportunities in the following areas:
      • Public Relations
      • General Communication
      • Digital Media
      • Production/Performance
      • Political Communication
      • Interactive Digital Studies

Internships should be considered a unique three-way partnership that involves the students, the business/organization, and the university. Students learn and apply skills from their education. Businesses give students a leg up on in the job market and the University gains higher skilled students that are ready for the workforce.

  Regional Meetings

Have you been to a regional meeting lately?

ICCE has launched a series of meetings, one in each region across Iowa, to help garner member input and provide updates between each chamber. These meetings give the organizations the opportunity to provide direct input to both ICCE and other chamber staff regarding current issues, efforts, programs and growth within Iowa.

View the ICCE events calendar, and get involved.
