ICE Annual Meeting

ICE's return to in person meetings exceeded expectations in Boston last month as the ICE Annual meeting began a weekend of exciting industry activities including the IMI/BAC International Apprentice Contest, the IMI Joan Baggett Calambokidis Innovation in Masonry Competition and the IUBAC Special Convention.

Annual Meeting attendees heard expert reports construction market forecasting, contractor cost and labor data, International health and pension funds, investing, legislative affairs, IMI and OSHA, and shared ideas amongst themselves during the active discussions.

A common thread over four days was labor/management partnership and what ICE, BAC and IMI can accomplish working together. The quality of IMI's training was on full display at the apprentice contest and its strong relationship with the design community was evident as they came together to celebrate the Innovation in Masonry Competition winners.

ICE President Michael Schmerbeck was able to give a contractor perspective and express the value of partnership to the entire union as he joined a distinguished group of speakers on the opening day of the IUBAC special convention.
