I am reaching out to you on behalf of Interfaith Council of Sacramento (I.C.G.S.) and Salam Islamic Center of Sacramento. On Thursday Dec 6th, 2018 at 6:00 p.m, we are organizing an event called “United We Stand” and we would like to send a message of support to the Victims of Paradise Fire, Southern California Fire Victims and Families and Friends of Victims of Mass shootings in our Country this year. We would like all faith groups to join us in an evening of prayers and remembrance and show support to our brothers and Sisters of all faiths in our nation. “United We Stand” is an annual event held at Salam Islamic Center @ 4545 College Oak Drive , Sacramento, Ca 95841. Please Join us and let us show our support.

Women's Empowerment
Holiday Stocking Drive
The holiday season can be an especially difficult time of year for women who are homeless or recently homeless. Purchasing holiday gifts may not always be an option. That’s where you come into play.
With your help, we can make sure that the women and children in our program each receive a special holiday gift this year.
Here’s our goal: We’re trying to collect 250 stockings by Wednesday, December 5th!
By donating a stocking of gifts, your act of kindness can demonstrate to women and children that they are loved by the community! See specified list of stocking items needed below.

Live Nativity Presentation

OUTDOOR LIVE NATIVITY PRESENTATION
“O Come Let Us Adore Him”
More than 50 volunteer cast members will come together in the true spirit of Christmas for multiple performances of the biblical account of the birth of Jesus Christ. This family-friendly, outdoor live nativity presentation, “O Come Let Us Adore Him,” will run Thursday, December 6th through Sunday, December 9th, with evening performances beginning every half hour.
Admission to the Live Nativity is free. The Live Nativity is located on the grounds of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2100 California Circle, Rancho Cordova, CA – across from the Folsom Auto Mall. The event will feature Mary and Joseph, live shepherds, ornately-dressed wisemen, an angel choir, and recorded scriptural narration from the New Testament. Over the course of 20 performances, six different newborn babies will make their acting debut as the Baby Jesus, the central figure of the event and the season.

Active Shooter Training for Houses of Worship

I am writing to extend an invitation to religious leaders and administrators of houses of worship to attend a training on strategies and tools to protect your congregations in an active shooter situation. The training will be held in the Kennedy Learning Center on the first floor of the Robert T. Matsui Federal Courthouse, on
December 11, 2018, from 9:30am-12:00pm. Please no more than three representatives per congregation. Complete details can be found on the attached flyer.
