Build for Unity - "Unity Think Tank"

Join Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento, our Build for Unity Faith Partner Coalition, Congregation B’nai Israel, and author Sasha Abramsky for an evening of discussion on housing inequality. Learn about the Jewish holiday Purim and its call to social action, and enjoy traditional Jewish pastries and refreshments.

Persian New Year Celebration 
March 9, 2019 – Persian New Year Celebration (Nourouz 1398)

MTO Shahmaghsoudi School of Islamic Sufism invites all to attend a special Persian New Year Celebration (Nourouz) on March 9, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. The program will feature a presentation on the symbolism of the traditional Haftseen table, and its relation to the seven stages of spiritual development as taught by Sufi masters for hundreds of years. The program will also feature enchanting rhythms and melodies of the zikr (“remembrance”), with an opportunity for all to participate.  

Authentic Persian food will be served immediately following the program.

Sacramento Symphonic Winds Concert series
Sacramento Symphonic Winds presents its 2018-2019 Concert Series

Bring the entire family to this extraordinary concert season entitled " … and the heart replies" at the new Rio Americano High School Center for the Arts. The Sacramento Symphonic Winds is a 60-piece adult symphonic band conducted by Music and Artistic Director Timothy M. Smith. The season will include James Sochinski’s epic Legend of Alcobaca, Frank Ticheli’s setting of Amazing Grace, Robert Jager’s inventive Variations on a Theme of Robert Schumann (The Happy Farmer) plus clarinet soloist Robert Mitchell performing Black Dog by Scott McAllister, lyric baritone vocal soloist Omari Tau performing selections from Aaron Copland’s Old American Songs, and our own trombone soloist Thomas Eckert performing Carnival of Venice by Herbert L. Clarke. 

Date/Time: Sundays; October 14 & December 9 (2018) and March 10 & May 5 (2019), 2:30 pm.
