Diocesan Anti-Racism Conference

Diocesan Anti-Racism Conference: “Open wide your hearts. An open conversation about racism in our Church.”

Join with Bishop Jaime Soto and Bishop Shelton Fabre as we begin an open conversation about addressing racism on Saturday, June 8 (8:30 am to noon) at St. Anthony Parish, 660 Florin Rd, Sacramento. Bishop Soto is calling all teachers, catechists, youth ministers, jail ministers, DRE’s and ministers of social justice to participate in this important discussion. We will be discussing the US Bishop’s recent pastoral document on racism, Open Wide Our Hearts, and reflecting together on how we can be a more welcoming church.

World Refugee Day Celebration
World Refugee Day Celebration

Please see a general flyer for the June 8th World Refugee Day celebration in partnership with the local resettlement agencies and Sacramento Republic FC! We will have three events throughout June and July to celebrate refugees, starting with a family fun day and refugee adult soccer tournament on June 8th, followed by a storytelling night on June 20th, and finalized with Sacramento Republic FC’s home game on July 13th spotlighting World Relief Sacramento. During that game, a trophy will be presented at halftime to the winners of our June 8th refugee soccer tournament.

Please visit the World Refugee Day website to learn more about how you can be involved at our resource fair (early bird registration through May 8th), as a sponsor/volunteer/player, or if you just want to come and enjoy this FREE event. We are expecting Mayor Steinberg to be there again and to make the event bigger and better this year!

Feel free to contact me with any questions – I’m looking forward to seeing you all there.

Making an Emotional Inventory

“Life has a way of bringing you back to the places that you thought you had left for good” ~William Bridges

This workshop will integrate your personal astrology, archetypes and teach you how to better navigate the organic process that new beginnings can only be created through endings.

As we journey through life we gather a collection of experiences that have shaped the direction of our path and the person we have become. This collection of history is the inventory of our emotional and spiritual interior we carry inside today.

Making this kind of internal inventory is an essential voyage to see, and then clear aspects of self you have outgrown, and yet, still carry a pull on your heart. This journey will help you to first recount, and then restructure the design of your life. It will challenge you to take responsibility for what you have been avoiding and to define where you are on your soul path.
