ICMAD has been receiving feedback from Members about the business impacts related to the global spread of COVID-19. A summary of survey results is now available. FDA Guidance on Temporary Compounding of Alcohol-Based Hand Sanitizer Products
The Agency issued a Guidance document on a policy to temporarily allow pharmacists in State-licensed pharmacies or Federal facilities and registered outsourcing facilities to compound certain alcohol-based hand sanitizer products. This is the only communication from FDA about temporary manufacturing policies for hand sanitizer products. All other usual OTC manufacturing requirements remain in place.
The California Air Resource Board cancelled a Public Work Group Meeting scheduled for March 19. The topics for this meeting included: Draft Proposed Test Method 310 changes, and related Consumer Products Regulation Updates. These topics are now being planned for discussion at a future work group meeting this spring. A date and time have not yet been assigned.
