ICMAD FDA Workshop - Postponed

The 40th Annual ICMAD FDA Cosmetics Regulation Workshop will be postponed due to the ongoing and evolving situation surrounding COVID-19 outbreak. We will provide event updates when more information is available.
SBA to Provide Disaster Assistance Loans for Small Businesses Impacted by COVID-19

If your business has suffered substantial economic injury as a result of COVID-19, please check out the resources available from the Small Business Administration. SBA assistance includes economic support via low-interest federal disaster loans for working capital.

SBA is hosting a FREE conference call on March 24 (1-2 PM ET) about the loan programs and how companies can qualify.

ICMAD COVID-19 Business Impact Survey Results & Open Forum Summary

ICMAD has been receiving feedback from Members about the business impacts related to the global spread of COVID-19. A summary of survey results is now available. ICMAD also held an Open Forum call yesterday open to all members. A summary of the call is available. Additional informational calls and webinars will be coming soon.

FDA Guidance on Temporary Compounding of Alcohol-Based Hand Sanitizer Products

The Agency issued a Guidance document on a policy to temporarily allow pharmacists in State-licensed pharmacies or Federal facilities and registered outsourcing facilities to compound certain alcohol-based hand sanitizer products. This is the only communication from FDA about temporary manufacturing policies for hand sanitizer products. All other usual OTC manufacturing requirements remain in place.

H.R. 5279 was amended by the House Health Subcommittee and forwarded to the full Energy and Commerce Committee following a markup session held on March 11.

Nail Products - DTSC Extension

The California DTSC has extended the public comment period for Proposed Priority Product Nail Products Containing Methyl Methacrylate until April 10, 2020.

CARB Public Work Group Cancelled

The California Air Resource Board cancelled a Public Work Group Meeting scheduled for March 19. The topics for this meeting included: Draft Proposed Test Method 310 changes, and related Consumer Products Regulation Updates. These topics are now being planned for discussion at a future work group meeting this spring. A date and time have not yet been assigned.

ICMAD EU/UK Program Status Update

ICMAD's partner, Biorius, is currently operating with no delays due to COVID-19 containment measures. Additional business updates are included in the latest press release from Biorius.

U.S.-UK Trade Dialogue Working Group - POSTPONED

This Boston event that was featured in the last Regulatory Update Newsletter will be rescheduled for the Fall. We will update the membership when the new date has been announced.
