Statement from Imam Ossama

AsSalam Alaikum ICN Family,

In light of the current situation, the CDC’s announcement, the President’s announcement advising people to limit gatherings to no greater than 10 people, and with the ruling of many jurists locally and globally the Islamic Center of Nashville has decided the following:

· The Islamic Center advises our families to come with a routine for their children; try to include a spiritual time, a fitness time and an educational time. There are great resources online through nationally recognized learning companies, Islamic podcasts suitable for families and we encourage families to share their resource with others. The Islamic Center of Nashville will place a post on Facebook to allow comments of useful online resources.

This time should also serve as a great opportunity to establish a family prayer time with all members participating and teaching younger ones how to pray, make the call to prayer, and establish a masjid within the home.

The Islamic Center urges its members to notify ICN of any elder and immune compromised persons living alone so that we may do whatever we can to assist.

The Islamic Center will continue to provide services to the community. Please see the website ( www.icntn.org ) or the Facebook page for services and online classes.

We ask people to lean to their faith and remember Allah. One of the Dua that you can say morning and evening is:

‏ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم‏:‏ ‏ "‏ما من عبد يقول في صباح كل يوم ومساء كل ليلة‏:‏ بسم الله الذي لا يضر مع اسمه شيء في الأرض ولا في السماء وهو السميع العليم، ثلاث مرات، إلا لم يضره شيء‏"‏‏

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "He who recites three times every morning and evening: In the Name of Allah with Whose Name there is protection against every kind of harm in the earth or in the heaven, and He is the All-Hearing and All- Knowing, nothing will harm him."

In this time of uncertainty, we put our trust in Allah and we seek comfort from our belief. Believers are always in a state of tranquility because part of our belief is that God is watching over all of us at all times.
May Allah give us the joy of praying in the Masjid soon.

Sincerely,
Imam Ossama Bahloul PhD
