Parent/Guardian Input Needed: ESSER III Application Priorities
Similar to many public schools across the nation, Irvington Community Schools has received supplemental federal funding as part of the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER Fund) to address the impact COVID-19 has had on schools and K-12 students. Established as part of the CARES Act, the Indiana State Department of Education (IDOE) awards the funding to public schools via a competitive grant application process. To date, ICS has been awarded ESSER I and ESSER II funding to support pandemic safety and cleaning, curricular materials, classroom technology, and more.

School leadership is currently planning and researching funding opportunities for the upcoming ESSER III application. And, we'd like the input of our parents/guardians and community stakeholders in determining priorities as ICS returns to in-person learning for the 2021-2022 school year. We value your input and appreciate you taking a moment to complete our five-question survey HERE. The ESSER III Parent/Guardian + Community Stakeholder survey closes on Thursday, June 10, 11:59 p.m.

ICMS Field Day(s) Scheduled for June 8 and June 10
As we wind down this MOST unusual school year, we wanted to reach out and invite our students to attend their Cohort's field day afternoon on Tuesday, June 8 (for Cohort B) or Thursday, June 10 (for Cohort A.) On these afternoons, virtual students may join in person at school starting at 11:30 a.m. for lunch in Advisory with field day afternoon festivities to follow. Dismissal for all students will be at 3:30 PM.

It's important to note that during those mornings, we will conduct abbreviated in-person classes for hybrid students and abbreviated final Google Meets for virtual students. (Watch your email for that schedule.) THERE ARE NO GOOGLE MEETS SCHEDULED FROM 10:40-11:30 a.m., so you will have time to travel to school if you are able. All virtual students who attend will join their hybrid-student friends in Advisory classes for lunch, the presentation of academic awards and certificates, and an early afternoon movie before launching our field day festivities outside later in the afternoon. Students will report to their Advisory class to begin their afternoon. We ask that all students come with masks to wear while in the building unless they are seated, socially distanced while eating in Advisory.

Attending? RSVP REQUIRED!
If you would like to attend, we ask you to 1.) RSVP HERE; 2.) let us know if you would like a school lunch if you attend (also in the link); 3.) and submit a parent-signed "Consent to Treat" form to Nurse Nicole here at the school. Forms are available in the front vestibule. NOTE: The signed form will be required in order to participate in field day festivities.
