Dear Friends,
The Institute for Christian Studies is pleased to announce that the Board has confirmed Dr. Beth Green as the incoming President of ICS, effective July 1, 2026. Beth brings significant experience in Christian higher education leadership and scholarship, along with a long-standing commitment to learning that shapes people and communities for faithful presence in the world.
A shared calling for this moment
ICS exists to cultivate graduate scholarship that is both intellectually rigorous and spiritually grounded. Beth's own vision resonates with that calling: she has emphasized that learning is never merely the production of knowledge but is formational, always directed toward human flourishing, reconciliation, and restoration with God and creation. She also believes this work is especially needed in a time when public life can narrow into polarized positions. ICS offers a different posture: a community where faithful Christian inquiry remains clear-eyed, humble, and unafraid.
A leader formed by Christian education and community
Beth describes ICS as formative in her own Christian story, offering a model of how scholarship, teaching, and committed discipleship can be reconciled. That connection has remained active through her governance and academic involvement with ICS. She values the "academic friendship" that sustains scholars across generations and creates the conditions for courageous, faithful thought.
Leadership grounded in collaboration
Beth currently serves as Chief Academic Officer and Provost at Tyndale University in Toronto. Across her career in Christian higher education and education research, she has become known for collaborative, culture-forming leadership. She is passionate about bringing people together around mission, building unity across silos, and helping teams do creative work with clarity and wise guardrails. She has also spoken of the importance of extending influence and networks while preserving what makes a community strong: focus, care, and a capacity to remain small and nimble.
