Happy New Year! 2022 holds promise for health and happiness. I am optimistic for our future and the opportunities that lie ahead. The ICSPS team are focusing on supporting the students, administrators, faculty, and colleagues in the system – we have trainings designed to support faculty in implementing Universal Design for Learning and upskilling pedogeological practices, we are hosting sessions on exploring trauma and how to build a trauma informed remote work culture, and we are showcasing resources to support autistic students as they transition to postsecondary and the workplace.
We are excited to collaborate with you as we all work together to serve students and make the system stronger. We hope you think of ICSPS as your trusted partner as we strive to provide high quality professional learning opportunities that support student access and transition, system integration, and equity.
ICSPS looks forward to our continued partnership as we work together to meet our goal of supporting the success of every learner in the new year.

FEBRUARY IS BLACK HISTORY MONTH
|
|
Beginning with President Ford in 1976, each year the American president has endorsed a specific theme for Black History month.
This year, President Biden has selected " Black Health and Wellness" for the 2022 Black History Month theme. The theme explores the "legacy of not only Black scholars and medical practitioners in Western medicine, but also other ways of knowing (e.g., birthworkers, doulas, midwives, naturopaths, etc.) throughout the African Diaspora. The theme considers activities, rituals and initiatives that Black communities have done to be well."
