The Introduction to Coaching Model Career Planning Policy (CPP) webinar introduced a coaching cohort model that has been designed specifically to support the rollout of the new CPP and help the workforce development system move toward a more human-centered approach to their work.

NAPE is happy to announce that registration for the National Summit for Educational Equity on April 25-28, 2022 is now open!

The summit brings together administrators, teachers/instructors, counselors, and educational leaders to focus on the individual, institutional, and systems-level work that are required to identify and remove barriers to access and opportunity; foster equitable learning environments; and increase and support pathways to an equitable workforce.

NAPE recently previewed three of the 48 breakout sessions that will be presented at the summit.

Equity in Perkins V - This interactive session will give participants the tools and knowledge needed to conduct the Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment with an equity focus.

Make the Future TM - Connecting Girls to Manufacturing - This session will share research-based outreach strategies and tools educators can use with students and their parents to increase the participation and retention of females and students of color in Advanced Manufacturing Education.

PIPEline to Career Success for Students with Disabilities - The Delaware Departments of Education, Labor, and Health and Social Services and NAPE have a four-year partnership with cohorts from four school districts to create CTE and Special Education leadership collaborations. This session will share how this partnership has transformed the way students with disabilities are supported in CTE.

Eric Garcia is a journalist based in Washington, D.C. and a graduate of the University of North Carolina. Garcia began writing about autism because he was frustrated by the media's coverage of it and realized he needed to put into writing what so many autistic people have been saying for years: autism is a part of their identity; they don't need to be fixed. In We're Not Broken, Garcia uses his own life as a springboard to discuss the social and policy gaps that exist in supporting those on the spectrum. From education to healthcare, he explores how autistic people wrestle with systems that were not built with them in mind. Garcia gives his community a platform to articulate their own needs, rather than having others speak for them.
