Ascentra Credit Union Donates $30,000 in Honor of Dale Owen to Celebrate ICUF's 30th Anniversary

In honor of ICUF's 30th anniversary, Ascentra Credit Union has made a generous $30,000 donation in memory of former ICUF board member and Ascentra CEO, Dale Owen.

Dale was a passionate advocate for "people helping people" and a guiding light in the Iowa credit union movement. He often encouraged others to “be the light”, a message that continues to inspire the people who knew him.

This gift is more than a donation—it’s a tribute to Dale’s legacy and a meaningful investment in the future of Iowa communities. With support like this, ICUF can continue to champion financial well-being, expand access to critical resources and empower credit union members to build brighter financial futures.

Celebrate International Credit Union Day on October 16

The World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) and Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions (WFCU) have announced the 77th anniversary of International Credit Union (ICU) Day, Thursday, October 16, 2025. The theme will be “Cooperation for a Prosperous World”.

This year also marks 100 years of the Iowa Credit Union Act and 30 years of ICUF impact. More information, materials, and ideas to celebrate can be found here.
