Guided by the credit union philosophy
of people helping people, the
Iowa Credit Union Foundation works to champion financial well-being for all.

Credit Union Clean Energy Grant Opportunity Available

Clean energy projects like solar energy, geothermal, and energy efficiency can create big savings for homeowners, but are sadly out of reach for many credit union members. Low and moderate-income members often face the greatest energy burden with few options to change their monthly energy bill.

Credit unions interested in offering loans for clean energy investments should explore the Inclusiv Clean Communities Investment Accelerator program. Pre-qualification forms are currently open for credit union submission. Grants are awarded on a rolling basis.

Immigrant and Refugee Tax Clinics Available in Des Moines

Lutheran Services in Iowa is offering Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) tax clinics through April 15. VITA helps Iowa immigrant and refugee families prepare and file taxes at no cost.

Consider promoting this information to your membership. Interpretation will be provided during the clinic and appointments are encouraged.

Utility Assistance Programs Available for Low-Income Households

The IMPACT Community Action Partnership has a Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) that can help eligible households stay safe and warm in the winter by providing financial assistance with home heating bills and protection from disconnection.

If you have members needing assistance in Boone, Jasper, Marion, Polk or Warren counties, learn about IMPACT programs here.

Continue Championing Random Acts of Kindness

Random Acts of Kindness Day, celebrated on February 17, reminds us of the powerful impact small gestures of kindness can have on individuals and communities. As we reflect on this day, let's continue spreading kindness within our organizations and communities, creating a ripple effect of goodwill that lasts long after the event has passed.

In the spirit of helping others, ICUF is accepting donations to its Disaster Relief Grant fund. These donations directly support credit union members who have been displaced from their homes, providing them with financial relief during life-altering events.
