ICUF Partcipates in Credit Union Legislative Day at the Iowa Capitol

Thank you to the many credit union advocates who joined us at the Iowa statehouse on February 19! While at the Capitol, ICUF advocated support for mission-aligned legislative priorities including the child care cliff effect, prize-linked savings and small dollar loan programs. We shared the rotunda with Lutheran Services of Iowa, a program partner of our foundation and credit unions across the state. ICUF to Sponsor 2019 Wage Study

Iowa is one of the fastest aging states in the nation. The need for home care workers will continue to rise in the next decade, however, Iowa does not currently have enough trained workers to meet this growing demand. According to the United Ways of Iowa 2018 ALICE Report, caregivers' wages are among the lowest in the state. This issue was also raised in the following Des Moines Register article. With ICUF's mission led focus on financial well-being, ICUF is proud to announce our sponsorship of the Iowa Caregivers Association 2019 Wage Study. New! Financial Coach Program

In response to credit union demand for financial coaching resources, ICUF has partnered with Adam Carroll to develop a financial coach program that will train credit union employees how to work with members to deliver needed financial coaching. This coaching program will include "nuts and bolts" take-aways to aid in financial coaching conversations and will also consider the holistic financial well-being needs of credit union members. The 'People Helping People' Financial Coach Program will be offered May 7-9, 2019. Watch for more information coming soon!

Mark your calendars! The annual ICUF Golf Classic will be held on Wednesday, June 12 at Brown Deer Golf Course in Coralville, Iowa. Start pulling together your teams - registration information will be coming soon!
