Becoming an American: The Challenges of Serving Immigrants and the Unique Advantages of Credit Unions

Iowa's credit unions have a history rooted in serving immigrant communities. Today's credit unions continue to be uniquely positioned to help immigrants meet their financial needs.


Last year, Filene Research Institute produced a report that provides critical information about the complex aspects of immigration today and highlights how credit union leaders can leverage a competitive advantage with immigrant markets while aligning with their member-focused missions. WFCU and WOCCU Establish Turkish Cooperative Earthquake Relief Fund

The Turkish Cooperative Earthquake Relief Fund directs donations to mitigate impacts of the recent devastating earthquakes to Turkey’s cooperative movement and those that look to it for support. The fund was established by the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions (WFCU), in partnership with the World Council (WOCCU) as part of their commitment to identify the immediate priority areas where funding is most needed to support cooperatives and their members.

Applications Still Open for Eligible Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program Participants

Do you know of elderly, disabled or low-income members who may benefit from assistance in paying their heating bills?


IMPACT Community Action Partnership is taking applications for the 2022–2023 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) through April 30, 2023.


This program is available for eligible participants in Boone, Jasper, Marion, Polk or Warren counties.

ICUF 'Be The Light' Golf Classic: June 7

Mark your calendars for June 7 in Coralville at the Brown Deer Golf Club. All proceeds from the event will benefit ICUF's mission to champion financial well-being for all. Registration to open in March.


'People Helping People' Financial Coach Training Program: May

This year's financial coach training program will be held virtually through a series of six webinars in May. Internationally recognized facilitator Adam Carroll will lead the program. Registrations will open in March and scholarships will be available.
