Dave Cale Featured in "Changing World of Credit Unions" Article

Financial Plus Credit Union CEO Dave Cale was recently featured in a Business Record article titled, “Financial Plus president reflects on changing world of credit unions.”

In promoting the credit union industry, he shares, “Younger people want to be involved with an institution that cares about them and provides value back to the community, versus one where they’re just considered a number. When I belong to a credit union, they get to know my family and my goals and help me make financial decisions that match those. It means something to them.”

FHFA Announces Cancellation of Previously Announced Enterprise Upfront Fees Based on Debt-To-Income Ratio

Last week, the FHFA announced the rescission of the debt-to-income (DTI) upfront fees for loans purchased by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (the Enterprises).

The DTI-based fee was part of the Enterprises’ single-family guarantee fee pricing framework and would have specifically applied to loans with a DTI ratio above 40%. In March, the FHFA had delayed implementation of the DTI-based fee because of operational challenges described by mortgage industry stakeholders. In their announcement, the FHFA noted that details about a request for information about the single-family guarantee fee pricing framework would follow shortly.
