Veridian's Renee Christoffer Authors Article for The Gazette

Veridian Credit Union CEO Renee Christoffer recently authored an opinion piece in The Gazette on interchange titled, “Legislation Makes Credit Cards Less Secure.”

She shares, “As a whole, the Credit Card Competition Act would reduce funding for fraud protection with little to no savings for consumers while making credit cards less secure and less accessible. Please reach out to your senators and representatives in Congress. Ask them to protect the security credit card purchases and the accessibility of consumer credit by opposing the Credit Card Competition Act."

Iowa Credit Union League Opposed to Interchange Bill

The Credit Card Competition Act (CCCA), recently introduced in Congress, would significantly alter a credit card payment system that currently works for all parties involved, while raising costs and threatening data security for Iowa consumers.

“The proposed changes to the interchange process will uproot a payment ecosystem that offers robust security, fraud protection, and will reduce access to credit for Iowans that often have the most difficulty accessing it," says ICUL President and CEO Murray Williams.
