DeRIDDER, La. -- The Beauregard Parish School Board released its annual Excellence in Education report which encompasses the 2017-2018 school year. It includes a history of education in Beauregard Parish, curriculum information, academic highlights, featured programs, fiscal statistics and more.
"In Beauregard Parish, we focus on the goal of excellence in public education. We strive for high academic achievement and healthy development for all students," wrote BPSB Superintendent Timothy Cooley in the report. "It is important that we celebrate the accomplishments of our schools and recognize the achievements of our students. Therefore, we have prepared a summary of our school system during the 2017-2018 school year. We are proud of our students, educators, and support personnel for their outstanding performances, and know that you are as well."
The report is divided into sections: Measures of Excellence, Programs of Excellence and Fiscal Excellence.
Measures of Excellence includes achievements from throughout the 2017-2018 school year, including attendance, accountability exam results, graduation, scholarship awards, BPSB principals, teachers and students of the year, and more.
Programs of Excellence features notable BPSB programs, such as creative arts, technology, college credit, Beauregard Virtual Program, Partners in Education, and other additional programs that serve students at Beauregard Parish schools.
Fiscal Excellence details how BPSB funding is used at Beauregard Parish schools.

Because of the support of our community--parents, business and industry, civic groups, and other clubs and organizations--we are able to provide a comprehensive program of learning which will equip our graduates to meet the challenges of the coming years," Cooley wrote.
