Celebrating 20 Years
This year marks the 20-year anniversary of NAAB’s International Certification (ICert) Program!

To commemorate this important milestone, NAAB is launching an International Certification Newsletter, which will be published twice a year.

Since its establishment in 2003, ICert has grown to include 22 programs at 18 institutions in nine countries and continues to expand.
Ongoing global expansion of quality assurance is one demonstration of NAAB’s commitment to its core value of Diversity and Inclusion. Just in 2023, NAAB received interest from programs in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, India, Mexico, and Portugal. Expansion and inclusion of new International Certification Programs provides NAAB with diverse perspectives on the enrichment of architectural education. NAAB at ARCASIA 
As part of NAAB’s global outreach, NAAB International Committee Member, George T. Kunihiro, FAIA, FJIA, shared the presentation, “An Introduction to International Certification” with the Architects Regional Council Asia’s (ARCASIA) Committee of Architecture Education in September 2023.

Announcing 2024-2026 ICert Fee Structure
The 2024-2026 International Certification Fee Structure has been released and will be implemented, effective January 1, 2024. The fee structure is available for review on the ICert Fees page of the NAAB website.

On-Site Visits Return in Spring 2024
Effective January 1, 2024, NAAB is returning to on-site visits for International Certification. The following programs are hosting a site visit in spring 2024:

  • Yildiz Technical University (Bachelor of Architecture)
  • Universidad Anáhuac México (Bachelor of Architecture)
Notice of Actions
At its recent November 2023 meeting, the Board of Directors took actions on programs that hosted International Certification visits in spring 2023.

Showcase your International Certification designation with a NAAB ICert Badge! This graphic designates an achievement of quality assurance credential and is for International Certification Programs’ use on websites and in catalogs, transcripts, or other materials.
