Opioid CE Opportunities

IDA reminds members that any professionals who hold or apply for a CSR must obtain two hours of opioid abuse CE by the next license renewal date of March 1, 2020. Note that if you have already taken two hours of opioid CE within this current licensure period, that CE will satisfy the requirements of the new law.

IDA has several upcoming opportunities that will provide two hours' worth of opioid continuing education:
Journal IDA
Mid- to late August
The summer 2019 edition of the Journal IDA will be an opioid CE issue. Articles focusing on addiction, best practices, scope of prescriptions and opioid resources will help members satisfy the two hour opioid CE requirements. Be a Contact Dentist!

The IDA Contact Dentist program is the foundation of IDA’s advocacy efforts. Contact Dentists actively cultivate professional relationships with Indiana legislators, serve as a liaison to these legislators regarding the goals of the dental profession and organized dentistry, and work with IDA to identify the best opportunities to engage these legislators.

Any IDA member who has a relationship with a legislator, or any member who is interested in establishing a relationship with his or her legislator, is asked to please volunteer as a Contact Dentist. IDA provides Contact Dentists with all the training and tools necessary to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with legislative contacts.
